Greece reaffirms its strong commitment to preserving Libya’s sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and national unity."He also acknowledged the role of the UN: "We support the leading role of the UN – of the UN Mission, but also the UN Special Representative Bernardino Leon – in guiding the efforts of the international community to stabilize Libya."
Greece
is among countries attending a meeting of Western Mediterranean nations in Madrid to discuss the situation in Libya. Others include Cyprus, Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Malta, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Mauritania, Chad and Sudan. The aim of the meeting is to assess the impact of the Libyan conflict on the region, in terms of both security and migration, and in relation to the prospects for economic recovery.
