Starting today and until September 15, the Greek Film Archive is hosting a tribute to contemporary Chinese cinema and its major filmmakers.

Chinese Film Week will feature eight films released in the last 3 years, covering a broad range of genres, in an attempt to depict the complex image of current Chinese cinema.

The event will kick off with a special screening of the Chinese box office hit Beijing Love Story, part of which was filmed in Santorini, while film director Chen Sicheng and leading actress Tong Liya will be present for the screening.


The festival will also feature The Grandmaster by Wong Kar-Wai, Jackie Chan’s Chinese Zodiac, Flying Swords of Dragon Gate by Tsui Ha, Partnersby Peter Chan, Police Diary by Ning Ying, Say Yes by Leste Chen, and Full Circle by Zhang Yang. The event will be inaugurated by Culture Deputy Minister Angela Gerekou.
