The Lesvos Geopark, a member of the Global Network of National Geoparks, under the umbrella of UNESCO, has been recognized by the international community as an invaluable natural and cultural heritage and a model for the enhancement of natural and cultural sites.
In this context, a delegation of the Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong Geopark, paid an official visit to Lesvos and discussed with the Director of the Natural History Museum of the Lesvos Petrified Forest, Professor Nikos Zouro,s the prospects of cooperation between the two Geoparks.
Further, the director of the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Environment Alan Chi Kong Wong, visited the mayor of Lesvos Dimitris Vounatsos and discussed the possibility of exporting Lesvos products to China, as well as developing tourism and cultural relations to the benefit of both sides.
