The online version of the Swedish newspaper Expressen presents the Best Ten Greek Islands based on public preferences, as expressed via comments and polls on various touristic websites. According to the tribute, the ten most preferred Greek islands for the Swedes are Crete, Naxos, Amorgos, Karpathos, Samos, Rhodes, Tilos, Skiathos, Skopelos and Santorini.
The article notes that Crete is the largest Greek island and Naxos has beautiful and picturesque villages as well as wonderful beaches, some of which are ideal for windsurfing. It also mentions the shooting of the film The Big Blue, in Amorgos, the historical sites of Samos and the natural, unspoiled beauty of Karpathos.
Furthermore, Rhodes is the fourth largest island of Greece, with a lively nightlife and great cultural heritage. Skiathos the biggest of the Northern Sporades, followed by Skopelos, the island where Mamma Mia was filmed, highlighting both the greenery and blue sea of the island. The list is completed with Santorini and the famous volcano, which erupted 3,500 years ago.
