Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Venizelos attended the Visegrad +3 Ministerial Meeting in Budapest on February 24. Energy policy and security, the management of migratory flows, and the crisis in Ukraine topped the agenda.

In his remarks following the meeting, Venizelos underlined that the construction of the Aegean-Baltic corridor was a very feasible and practical project that could address the energy issues of security of supply and affordability of the price.

With regard to the situation in Ukraine, Venizelos noted that "There is a vital need to protect the existence, the territorial integrity and also the social, regional cohesion of the country." and "elaborate and present – together with the United States, Russia and the competent international organizations – a consolidated, integrated process in order to avoid the disorderly default and the destruction of the financial and economic level of Ukraine."
