The City of Athens in collaboration with social anthropologist and origami instructor Mirto Dimitriou will attempt to win the Guinness world records title for the largest origami mosaic by creating a giant origami owl - measuring 500m2, using 50,000 origami water lilies - at the Mets Stadium on March 18.

The project is supported by the Embassy of Japan in Athens, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Environment and Climatic Change, the General Secretariat of Youth.

In 2012, in Thessaloniki, Dimitriou and 10,000 volunteers created the largest Origami mosaic for the Guinness World Record by folding 40,000 origami water lilies to form the image of the White Tower!
