The trip is scheduled for July 23, from Thessaloniki and is estimated to be completed by August 20 to 25 in Ponta Delgada, the largest port and capital of the Azores islands, after stops in Naples, Marseilles, Barcelona and Lisbon. "We want to convey a message of peace and friendship to all Mediterranean people," stated Thomas Panagiotopoulos, head of the mission. He explained that the difficult part of the trip is when crossing the Atlantic Ocean from Portugal to the Azores.
