Athens and Crete are the set of the upcoming psychological thriller "Two faces of January" by Hossein Hamini, based on a 1964 Patricia Highsmith novel of the same name that will premier on Berlinale Special Galas section of the 64th Berlin International Film Festival.

The film’s plot is set in Greece and focuses on a con artist, his wife, and a stranger who tries to flee a foreign country after one of them is caught up in the murder of a police officer.

The movie, starring Oscar Isaac, Kirsten Dunst and Viggo Mortensen, was filmed at the Acropolis and at the picturesque Old Port area of Chania and environs.
