The Hellenic Parliament
approved yesterday the 2014 state budget with a total of 153 lawmakers in favour of the budget plan, while 142 voted against the bill, and one present, in the 300-seat house. The budget foresees 0.6 % growth rate for next year and sets out €5.6 billion in spending cuts and projected tax revenue. During his speech, Prime Minister Antonis Samaras said: "This is a historic day," calling the 2014 plan a budget of recovery and hope. People's sacrifices yielded fruits and changed the course of the country."
