The treasures discovered while digging under the city of Athens go on display right in the metro stations - a site that never ceases to amaze visitors. As is familiar to the metropolis' city dwellers, while excavations take place to build the city’s impressive transit system, the procedure stops many times while archaeologists get called in to examine and excavate pieces of history.
"Most of the findings are left in situ so people can see them as they were found allowing an insight into the way life used to be in this great city," writes Kozak. More than 50,000 ancient articles have found. Today these treasures are on display in six different metro stations.
