  • 4th Ethnofest @Exile Room
The 4th edition of Athens Ethnographic Festival will run in the Exile Room from November 29 to December 1.

This year’s edition will present, in collaboration with the French Institute in Greece and in the context of "Documentary Month" (Le mois du film documentaire), the contemporary output of Ateliers Varan, a workshop created 32 years ago from an idea by Jean Rouch.

Furthermore, the festival will honour the significant filmmaker Alida Dimitriou, with three rare films, - Coalers (1977), Spata (1978) and Fournoi (1982) - which demonstrate the unique approach of her works.

  • Tribute to Luciano Berio@ Onassis Cultural Center
A tribute to Luciano Berio (1925-2003), one of the most prominent figures of post-war Modernism will run at the Onassis Cultural Center on December 1. The event, which marks the 10th anniversary of the composer’s death, will feature eminent musicians performing virtuoso solo works including the famous Sequenzas and offering insights to the public about their interpretations. The event will include electro-acoustic works, screenings of films about the composer and a workshop/presentation.

  • Comic Exhibition @ Michael Cacoyannis Foundation
The comic strip exhibition Ena tsigaro chronos (as long as it takes for a cigarette to burn) by cartoonists Tassos Papaioannou & Ilias Kyriazis will run at the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation from November 25 to December 1.

The comic strip features love stories, break-ups, moments of dramatic tension and hilarious, surreal outbursts... all happening in the time it takes for a cigarette to burn.

It was first introduced during the 2nd Xanthi Comedy Festival (2012) as a tribute to the city’s renowned tobacco plantations and it marks the start of a collaboration between the Xanthi Comedy Festival and the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation, making this exhibition the first parallel event of the festival in Athens.

  • 4th Oriental Passion Festival@ Athinais Cultural Center
The 4th Oriental Passion Festival will run at the Athinais Cultural Center from November 28 to December 1. This international Middle – Eastern Dance and Music Festival reveals the secrets of oriental dances, Bollywood and tribal fusion dances, Egyptian folklore, yoga and middle-eastern dances.

The festival programme includes 2 gala shows with Master teachers and international artists, 32 hours of workshops, art exhibitions and of course the 4th Oriental Passion International Championship!
