Government Vice-President and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos made a statement regarding the bombing near the Iranian Embassy in Beirut. He expressed profound grief and condolences to the families of the victims.

"The Greek government categorically and unequivocally condemns the deadly bombing near the Iranian Embassy in Beirut, the large number of victims of which included employees of the Embassy and many injured. Terrorism and the use of violence, whatever the source, undermine the peace, stability and security of Lebanon. We hope that the relevant investigations lead to the perpetrators of this act and to justice’s being done."
