Greece raised € 41.1 million from the sale of four real estate properties abroad, the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (HRADF) announced yesterday.
In particular, the consular residence in London was sold for €27.4 million, the building of the Permanent Representation of Greece in Brussels for €3.24 million, the consular residence in Belgrade for € 2.075 million, while the landplot in Nicosia was sold for €8.3 million. According to estimates, the sum raised was 27.1 % higher than expected and 13.6 % above starting bids. "At a difficult times, our choices have been vindicated, which is encouraging us for the future. We are particularly satisfied with the outcome," said HRADF chief executive officer Yiannis Emiris.
The Fund also announced that a new tender will be launched within 15 days for the consular residencies in Tashkent and Ljubljana, which received no bids.
