Then discover Greece is for Lovers, a not at all everyday souvenir shop at the foot of the Acropolis hill in the historic district of Plaka!
The creative minds behind this design studio are Thanos Karampatsos and Christina Kotsilelou, who have introduced a new sense of "Greekness" to contemporary product design, by mixing up a blend of Greece’s spiciest ingredients: humor, irony, nonchalance and extravagance.
Inspired by the stereotypical perception of what it is to be "Greek," their ingenious designs make a strong statement of what the behavioral patterns and the habitual activities of the Greeks of the past and the present are.
So what about a hand-knitted iPod holder, a ceramic skateboard, or a set of "Hermaphrodite" candles, featuring beeswax busts of God Hermes and Goddess Aphrodite wearing sunglasses? And for those who are not lucky enough to visit Athens, there is still the e-shop!
