During the 9th International Poetry Competition Castello Di Duino that was held in Trieste, Italy, with 70 participating schools, sixth-grade students of Papados elementary school on the island of Lesvos won the first prize for the poem Children’s Dreams. The award ceremony took place on March 24, and the young poets decided to offer their prize money to charity.

Among other projects that received distinctions were the ones by the Chalkida 6th High School pupils for the poem "The future ... a place in the world," and the Tripoli 2nd High School , for the poem "Migration – present and future."

Greece’s participation was an initiative of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture in Italy, in collaboration with the Greek Ministry of Education.
