  • Concerts with a View @ Acropolis Museum
Five unique musical evenings with music groups from around the world will be presented at the Acropolis Museum from February 15 to April 26.

Don’t miss out on : the Traditional Songs of Ireland (15/2): Claude Debussy: the poet of modernism (1/3); Musical Masterpieces from Poland (15/3); Musical Journey: Destination Spain (12/4);  and The Flute of Pan: Greek antiquity in French romanticism (26/4).

Visitors can enjoy the Museum’s musical treat from the second floor balcony that overlooks the Archaic Gallery or they may choose to tour the archaic exhibition under the sounds of music. All concerts start at 7 p.m.

  • Kisses to the Children Premiere @ Thessaloniki
The premiere of the documentary Kisses to the Children, directed by Vassilis Loules is taking place in Thessaloniki, at the Olympion Theatre, on February 17.

The film follows five Greek-Jewish children who were saved by Christian families during the German Occupation. Five "Hidden Children" tells stories of terror, anguish and confusion, but stories also of salvation and carefree childhood in the embrace of strangers.

The movie depicts the life of Greek Jewish communities before the War, along with rare images of occupied Greece from archival material, as well as amateur films by German soldiers and footage shot by Greek resistance fighters.


After the screening, the director, as well as members of the Thessaloniki municipality and the city's Jewish Community will give a press conference.

  • St. Valentine’s Night
New York JD Walter plays the best of the great American jazz songbook, as well as romantic renditions by Sting, Paul Simon, Van Morrison and others, at the Gazarte venue.

Courtney Parker sings the jazz and funk side of St. Valentine’s at the Balux Café-The House Project.

For jazz lovers there is also the Jamaican trombonist Curtis Fuller, who participated in the legendary Blue Train of John Coltrane and the concerts of Bud Powell, Miles Davis, Sonny Clark, Jimmy Smith and others, will be playing at the Half Note Jazz Club.

  • Electrical Walks @ Goethe Institute
German artist Christina Kubisch invites all to the Goethe Institute of Athens,  for a variety of walks around Athens, till February 20.Wearing a special kind of magnetic headphones the amplify the electromagnetic fields of the city, and a map marked with special acoustic landmarks, one can go for different walks, that change perceptions of everyday reality.Kubisch belongs to the first generation of sound artists; as a composer, she has developed the technique of magnetic induction.
