Horst Reichenbach led a delegation of the Task Force for Greece on January 29, on a visit at the Athens InnoCenter in Maroussi, where Corallia Hellenic Technology Clusters Initiative is located. Corallia, an Athens-based cluster initiative aiming to boost competitiveness, entrepreneurship and innovation, acts as a cluster facilitator in implementing specific support actions, involving industry, universities, research centres and financial institutions.
The Task Force delegation was received by the management team and was briefed on the progress of projects undertaken by Corallia for, amongst others, the support of young entrepreneurs and regional specialisation.
They also discussed best practices that could be applied in Greece for more efficient use of European Structural Funds as well as for removing administrative barriers.
According to Reichenbach, the Task Force and Corallia will work closely together, exploring the potential of applying the initiative’s practices at a larger scale.
"The country needs to find ways to boost growth and employment; entrepreneurship and innovation are essential ingredients for success in this respect", he said, adding that Corallia has proven that "Greece can indeed make use of its own wealth of talent and skills and become a world-class player."
