A ski jumper from Greece? It sounds like a joke but it’s not!

Nico Polychronidis is the first Greek athlete in the history of ski jumping. Born in Oberstdorf, Germany, in 1989 to a German mother and a Greek father, Polychronidis made his debut at the Ski-Jumping World Cup, held in Willingen on February 8-10.

The athlete from the Ski Club of Drama has now to face two major challenges: the World Championships in Val di Fiemme, Italy and the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. Good luck and jump high, Nico!
