  • A Journey through Antonioni’s Lens
A tribute to Michelangelo Antonioni, marking the centenary of his birth is organized by the Italian Cultural Centre of Athens.

Under the title A Journey through Antonioni’s lens, the tribute will commence at the Athens Concert Hall on February 5, with a lecture by the filmmaker and writer Carlo di Carlo and the screening of the film L’avventura (1960).

There will be a complementary screening of other Antonioni films, as well as the documentary Antonioni su Antonioni by Carlo di Carlo at the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation from February 6 to 13.

  • Eifman’s Roden @ Athens Concert Hall
Boris Eifman’s new Ballet, Rodin, inspired by the life and works of the great sculptor August Rodin, as well as his relation with Camille Claudel will be staged at the Athens Concert Hall from February 1 to 3.

  •  Yiannis Adamakos @ Benaki
The latest exhibition of Greek painter Yiannis Adamakos opens at the Pireos Street Annexe of Benaki Museum, on January 31. This selection of about one hundred works, under the title 9 lumen, sheds light on his 35-year-long painting career. His art revolves around three fundamental elements: space, shape and light. The exhibition runs through March 31.

  •  The Athens Camerata @ SGT

The Athens Camerata will play at the Onassis Cultural Centre on February 4. The repertoire includes Richard Strauss’ much-loved masterpiece Metamorphosen and Arvo Pärt’s Fourth Symphony, in its Greek premiere.
  • La Venexiana @ Athens Concert Hall
La Venexiana, one of the most important groups of Baroque opera which specializes in the Italian Madrigal repertoire, will play at the Athens Concert Hall on February 2.

The members of La Venexiana -some of the most experienced European performers in this particular music field- will play excerpts from Vivaldi’s operas.

Irvin Yalom’s Love's Executioner directed by Kostas Gakis, will be staged at the Michael CacoyannisFoundation, till February 26. Starring Xenia Kalogeropoulou and MinasHatzisavas.
