A collection of black and white photographs by George Kalogeropoulos, under the title
One hundred photos ago, will be on display at the
Image gallery in Athens, from January 18 to February 3.
The thematic sections of the exhibition, under the eloquent titles
Journey,
America-America, and
Home, capture the Messenian cinematographer’s New York days, the return to his beloved Messinia and his Athenian itineraries.

As a representative of the Greek Film Centre in New York, George Kalogeropoulos has systematically worked to promote Greek cinema abroad, having organized the retrospectives
CineMythology: A Retrospective of Greek Film, the first film exhibition to provide an overview of the history of Greek cinema and a tribute to
Theo Angelopoulos for the MoMA.
He is currently the director of the
Mediterranean Film Institute, a European organization in the field of training emerging screenwriters and directors from Europe and the Mediterranean region.
