Posidonia 2012 -the world’s premier event in the maritime industry- will be hosted for the first time at the state of the art Metropolitan Expo in Athens, on June 4 to 8. Apart from the main exhibition,the programme includes conferences and shipping association gatherings, chaired by industry leaders, in order to debate the challenges facing the  contemporary shipping world. 

The event also offers highly popular sports events, such as the 6th Posidonia Cup yacht race on June 1, in four categories, which will mark the start of Posidonia 2012.

 On June 3, participants will have the chance to compete in the framework of the Posidonia Golf Tournament or the five-a-side Posidonia Shipsoccer tournament. 17,000 people from 90 maritime countries are expected to visit this year's fair, which will be featuring 1,857 exhibitors.
