A group of 50 top economists, former government leaders, and EU parliamentarians – including Hans Eichel, Giuliano Amato, and Peter Bofinger – signed an appeal to European leaders asking them to compromise ,display flexibility toward Greece and give the country more time, stressing the catastrophic consequences of a Greek euro exit for Europe on the whole.
