Caretaker Prime Minister Panagiotis Pikrammenos attended yesterday in Brussels a European Council informal meeting, which discussed the agenda for a growth strategy for Europe, in view of the June European Council. At a press conference following the meeting, the PM said that, "his informal summit discussed development and measures to combat unemployment [and] emphasized the importance of supplementing the specific consolidation policy with growth measures that would have a direct impact  on the Greek economy."

Ahead of the EU informal summit, the Prime Minister met with the President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy and with European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso and had separate meetings with French President Francois Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
