May 1st -International Workers’ Day- was commemorated yesterday throughout Greece with demonstrations and marches by trade unions and Labour Federations.

Under the slogan No one alone, together we can succeed, the country's two largest Labour Federations -GSEE and ADEDY- held their May Day rally at Kotzia square in downtown Athens, while communist-led PAME rallied outside Hellenic Halyvourgia steel plant, whose workers have been on strike for over 6 months.
