Kastoria in northwestern Greece is hosting the 37th edition of its annual International Fur Fair from May 4 to 7. The International Fur Fair is organised by the Kastoria Fur Association every spring since 1976, attracting worldwide attention. This year, 160 exhibitors will present their new collections for 2012. Due to its international prestige, the Kastoria Fur Fair is considered the greatest trade show in Greece and the wider Balkans.

Leather and fur processing began in Kastoria around the 13th century. The unique technique and the enthusiasm of the Kastoria furriers has made the city the centre of fur trade for centuries.

Today, Kastoria accounts for nearly 10% of trade transactions worldwide in the sectors of fur and leather, always observing international rules for the ecosystem protection.
