The National Gallery is hosting an exhibition titled From the collections of the A.G. Leventis Foundation, running until June 3.

Showcased for the first time, the art collections of the Leventis Foundation highlight its dynamic presence in the cultural field, with 270 works that are divided conceptually and architecturally into three sections that correspond to three separate art compilations.

The first one, the so-called Parisian Collection (17th to 20th centuries), encompasses works by artists of the calibre of Boucher, Canaletto and Chagall among others, constituting representative examples of modern Western art.

The Greek Collection (19th-20th centuries) features art works by significant artists who have  shaped Greek painting such as Gysis, Lytras, and Papaloukas as well as by representantives of the younger generations Tsarouchis, Hatzikyriakos-Ghikas, Moralis.

Finally, the Cypriot Collection (20th century)presents the artistic production of Cypriot painters of the likes of Kissonerghis and Diamantis, whose work focused on their experiences with nature and the people in Cyprus.
