According to a Eurostat Press Release on March 14, Greece’s harmonised inflation rate for February 2012 dropped to 1.7%, the lowest one in the Euro area. During the same month, the overall annual inflation for EU members remained unchanged at 2.7%. The inflation rate refers to a general rise in prices measured against a standard level of consumers' purchasing power.
