Xanthi is celebrating its Old Town Festival for the 20th year.
Taking place in the "open-air museum" of the Old Town, the festival continues until September 12.Music, theatre and art events abide, but street festivities remain the main attraction: various local groups and associations hold street parties in the narrow paved streets, only to eventually merge into one single company dancing and singing.
