The Parliament adopted yesterday legislation which liberalises the road haulage sector in an effort to establish free-market conditions in closed-shop professions.

The government estimates that another seventy closed-shop professions will follow.

According to the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research, the liberalization of road transport "would increase gross domestic product by about 2% in the first year of application."
