  • Spartathlon: The Ultimate Race
The 28th Spartathlon Race is to be held on September 24 and 25.

Starting from the foot of the Acropolis, the participating athletes will race the 246 km of the route to arrive in Sparta, after having completed what is described as the world’s most challenging race, due to distance, cut-off time requirements and extreme ground and weather conditions.

More than 440 athletes from over 25 countries are participating in this year’s event. At most, one third of the racers make it to the finish line, to be awarded the humble but precious olive branch wreath.
  • Race For The Cure
The second Greece Race for the Cure is taking place in Athens on September 26.

The race is organized by the Pan-Hellenic Association of Women with Breast Cancer in collaboration with Susan G. Komen for the Cure and aims to raise general public awareness about breast cancer

The race, which is friendly for both runners and walkers, will start at 11.00 from Zappeion, while special surprises await participants with kids.
