Continuing a tradition that started in the 80s, a group of German pupils visit Greece every summer as guests of the town of Distomo (Central Greece), which, in 1944, became the locus of one of the biggest massacres of unarmed civilians during WWII.

This year marks the 66th anniversary of atrocities that cost the lives of 228 people, 117 women, and 111 men, including 53 children under the age of 16. More than half a century later, the German pupils bear a message of peace and reconciliation.
