The European Mobility Week (September 16 to 22) is a campaign aiming at raising public awareness on the use of public transport, cycling, walking and at encouraging European cities to promote these modes of transport and to invest in related infrastructure.

Cities and towns, totalling 1,487, are partaking in this year’s European Mobility Week. Greece is officially participating with 5 cities: Thessaloniki, Lamia, Giannitsa, Veria and Panorama Thessalonikis. The celebrations culminate with various activities hosted on September 18, at Syntagma Square in Athens.

In tandem, the Environmental Information Centre of Athens International Airport is hosting the exhibition Ecomobility, Ecological Automotion for the fifth straight year -a special environmental awareness exhibition of artworks created by pupils from all over Greece. The display will run until November 14.
