Environment, Energy and Climate Change Minister Tina Birbili announced yesterday an ambitious programme of investments in "green economy," totaling at €44, 44 billion by 2015 and aiming at the creation of over 210, 000 jobs.

The plan covers a broad range of investments, from saving energy interventions and renewable energy sources to pipelines and storage facilities for natural gas, as well as power interconnectivity for the islands and urban facelifts. "The ministry hopes the programme will decisively contribute to face recession and lead to dynamic economic growth," said Birbili.
