Alternate Foreign Minister Droutsas is visiting Belgrade and Pristina (July 30-31) in the light of the International Court of Justice Advisory Opinion concerning Kosovo independence.

The minister will be received by Serbian Patriarch Irinej, the Serbian President Boris Tadic and is expected to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation on EU issues with his Serbian counterpart Jeremic.

As Droutsas said, "We believe that the advisory opinion can serve as a springboard for a substantial political process that will facilitate cooperation and understanding with a view to the European future of the region."
