On September 20, a parliamentary election is set to take place in Greece, following the Hellenic Parliament’s decisive approval of a new €85bn bailout programme. This time, elections will be conducted according to closed electoral party lists, in which case the order of candidates within the list is fixed and voters effectively nominate their preferred party. Nineteen parties and alliances will run for the elections, acccording to Greece’s Supreme Court, which approved the final electoral lists.
A special Election Press Centre has been set up by the Secretariat General for Information/Communications, at Zappeion Hall. The Press Centre will be open from September 18 through 20. Election results will be uploaded as soon as they are processed on a dedicated website: Parliamentary Elections 2015; & Interior Ministry: Previous election results (1996-January, 2015)
