For the second successive year, the European Union National Institutes of Culture (EUNIC) has organized the European Literary Walk, which will be held on September 27 in Athens. Renowned writers from around Europe, actors and journalists will read extracts from guest writers’ works, in the presence of the writers themselves, followed by conversation with the writers.
Writers participating in this year's event, taking place at the Book Archade (Stoa Vivliou), are: Hervé Le Tellier (Institut français d'Athènes), Angelika Reitzer (Embassy of Austria), Adam Baron (British Council), Matei Visniec (Embassy of Romania), Care Santos (Instituto Cervantes), Elena Kefala, Andreas Karayan, Lefkios Zafeiriou (House of Cyprus), Markéta Mališová (Embassy of the Czech Republic), David Safier (Goethe-Institut Athen) and Kari Hesthamar (Norwegian Embassy).
The EUNIC is an association of EU national or official cultural bodies who represent their countries' cultural and, in many cases, educational relations with other countries. The EUNIC Athens and Thessaloniki clusters were established in 2008 and 2012 respectively.
