  • Ouzo Festival @ Lesvos
The island of Lesvos is considered to be the homeland of Ouzo; rightfully so, the Ouzo festival is organized every summer on the island, by the Association of Lesvos Distillers. This year the festival travelled to various towns, the capital Mytilene, Molyvos, Perama, and it will conclude at Plomari on July 25-26. It features folklore dances, traditional Greek music, great ouzo labels and of course small plate of appetizers called meze, usually containing small fresh fish, olives and ladotyri cheese. Explore the history of this traditional Greek spirit by visiting the Museum of Ouzo and the distilleries.
