  • Cosmas Xenakis Retrospective @ Benaki Museum
The retrospective exhibition Cosmas Xenakis (1925-1984) will run at the Benaki Museum until 10/5/2015.

Cosmas Xenakis was one of the pioneers of Greek post-war art, who took interest not only in painting but also in sculpture, architecture and urban planning. Combining painting and sculpture with theatre and dance, he created avant-garde performances that he called Polytechna.
  • Digital El Greco Museum @ National Glyptoteque
El Greco’s masterpieces in Toledo and Escorial will open at the National Glyptoteque in Goudi, on March 31.

The exhibition titled Imaginary Digital Museum will use state-of-art digital technology to reproduce some of El Greco’s landmark compositions that are too large to travel or are placed in churches or religious institutions around the globe.

The high definition installations will allow the visitor to appreciate even minor details, under the sounds of Vangelis Papathasiou’s music and Spanish liturgical music and enjoy an audiovisual presentation based on texts by National Gallery director Marina Lampraki-Plaka.

  • 100 Years of Greek Tourism Architecture
      As of March 27, an exhibition on the Greek tourism industry architecture of the last 100 years will go on display at the Acropolis Museum in Athens. This tribute to Greece’s architectural heritage (Tourism Landscapes: Remaking Greece) was first presented last year, during the 14th International Architecture Exhibition at La Biennale in Venice, Italy. The exhibits are divided in two sections, past and future, and the public will be presented with 15 new sea-scape lodging projects submitted by both Greeks and international architects.

      • 10th Athens Animation Festival
      The 10th Athens Animation Festival (Animfest) will run at various cinemas across Athens on March 26 to April 1. This year’s programme includes feature and short animated movies, tributes and movie marathons.

      Cinephiles will enjoy recent creations of great artists and students of animation as well, the latter of which convey the freshness and the troubles of their generation through their work.
