Elias Vartholomaios and Athina-Polina Dova had a serious idea about what is called serious games. Considered the future of education, serious games are games intended for educational purposes (along with recreation), because they are simulations of real-world events or processes, in other words, real problems.

The young Greek team worked on the idea of serious games and came up with Owiwi, a Human Resources serious gaming development company to be used for (talent) recruitment. Owiwi helps a company find the best fitting employees for the company’s needs by letting the candidates play a game which measures the 'soft skills,' which some employers deem even more important than the hard/technical skills. The game provides recruiters with information which would otherwise be impossible for them to attain through an interview. The new method proves more efficient and is considered the future, because as the founders like to put it “it’s all part of a big game!”

Owiwi means owl in one of Nigeria’s most ancient dialects. The founders chose the name because of the owl’s ability to see in the dark. "We see what you are, when others cannot. We see the real you," the team concludes.
