The United Nations Security Council has issued an announcement condemning the terrorist attack on the Israeli Embassy in Athens on December 12, and commending the Greek Government's response to the incident including its “unequivocal condemnation and immediate commencement of an investigation” into the attack and emphasized the need to bring the perpetrators to immediate justice.

"Terrorism, in all its forms and manifestations, constitutes one of the most serious threats to peace and security," the Council declared. "Any acts of terrorism are criminal and unjustifiable, regardless of their motivations, whenever and by whomsoever committed."
