T H E A T R E
  •  Les Estivants by Maxim Gorky @ Onassis Cultural Centre
Belgian theatre group tgSTAN is staging Maxim Gorky’s Les Estivants at the Onassis Cultural Centre till December 1. Since its establishment in 1989, tgSTAN work creatively without a stage director, using the floor’s energy and act in several languages. In this rarely performed play, Gorky describes the leisurely everyday life of the Russian bourgeoisie before the Russian Revolution.

  • Buena Vista Social Club 
Orquestra Buena Vista Social Club, the phenomenon of Cuban music, returns to Greece for two concerts on November 30, in Thessaloniki (Ivanofeio stadium)and on December 1, at Faliro Indoor Sports Arena (Tae-Kwon-Do) in Athens.

Omara Portuondo, the iconic cuban singer, will be joining them in a trip down latin music.

 
Calexico in Athens, Thessaloniki
    Calexico, the American alternative country music group plays on November 30 and December 1, at the Principal Club Theatre in Thessaloniki and the Fuzz Club, in Athens respectively.

    Their music is the sound of the American desert, where the Wild West meets Latin America, where border crossers meet with restless wanderers.

    • Theodore Kerkezos Quartet @TF
    The Theodore Kerkezos Quartet play tonight at the Theocharakis Foundation.

    They will present familiar jazz tunes by composers who honoured the saxophone, including Gershwin, Piazzolla, Brubeck and Corea.

    • Cinema & Reality @ IFA
    The Festival Cinema and Reality takes place at the French Institute in Athens, from November 30 till December 5.

     In its 25th edition, the festival which focuses on this original form of narrating art, mingling documentary and fiction, features over 40 films, most of which are shown for the first time in Greece.

    • Omada Pende @ Michael Cacoyannis Foundation
    Theatre and Dance Company Omada Pende from Cyprus will stage two performances at the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation, on November 30 and December 1.

     
    Two of the company’s projects will be presented: the Manual Script for a Table, One Chair, Five Dolls and String, about the personal moments of two women who act and react and Mary's Song, inspired by Sylvia Plath’s prose.
