Prime Minister Antonis Samaras was the keynote speaker at an event organized by the European People’s Party (EPP) group bureau meeting, held in Malta, on November 15-6, under the title The Answer is more Europe. In his address, the premier noted that Europe has to provide a framework within which nation states can converge, national economies can integrate, national societies can grow beyond their limits and national cultures can really merge together.

With respect to Greece, he said that he is now more optimistic that the worst of the crisis is behind us and that things will start to improve, adding that the whole programme has been repackaged so it can work this time, and that hopefully, the first signs of recovery will become visible by the end of next year.
