Greece, already known for its qualitative dairy products, has now won a prize for its ice cream. On October 19, chef-pattiseur Nikolaos Neroladakis, of Konstantinidis Patisserie and Nikolaos Christogeorgos, won first place in a European ice cream contest in Berlin, followed by a Dutch and Slovene team, in second place and the Austrians in third.
Participants had to prepare a mango and chocolate flavoured ice cream, in a contest that was organized by the magazine Gelato and the Academy for Italian Ice-cream. See also: Athinorama.gr/Umami (in Greek)
