A draft presidential decree, which foresees the establishment of a specialised unit in the Greek Police (EL.AS) to deal with racist violence, was unveiled during by Public Order & Citizen Protection Minister Nikos Dendias on October 29. The decree envisions the creation of racist violence police divisions initially in Athens and Thessaloniki, and then throughout the country, as well as a telephone hotline for reporting such incidents. 

Yesterday, the Public Order Minister presented Parliament with a list of violent and criminal acts that have been attributed to deputies and officials of the ultra-nationalist party Golden Dawn in police reports from around the country, following calls for an investigation into the party's activities.
