Greece is taking part in the 64th International Book Fair that takes place in Frankfurt from October 10 to 14, with New Zealand being the guest of honour country.

Greece is participating with its own pavilion, co-organised by the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs, Culture and Sports, and the National Book Centre (EKEBI). Twenty-one publishers will showcase their recent publication.

The pavilion has been designed in such a way as to allow publishers to hold business meetings. The space is divided into three sections: a central one is for use by publishers, the second one serves as an exhibition of Greek books translated into other languages in recent years (433 were translated in 26 languages in 2011 alone), and the third is dedicated to award-winning Greek books.
