The Greek government submitted last night its proposals detailing reforms and public spending cuts to the creditor institutions for consideration and to the Hellenic Parliament for approval.

The 13-page document outlines a series of concrete fiscal measures that reduce expenditure and provide the basis for a loan agreement to avert bankruptcy and help kick start the country’s troubled economy. Greek lawmakers will vote on the proposals through emergency procedures later today, before a Eurogroup finance ministers meeting tomorrow (Saturday, 11.07) and an emergency summit of all 28 European Union leaders on Sunday (July 12).

Meanwhile, opposition party delegates from New Democracy and To Potami were in Brussels for meetings with top European officials, providing assurances of their support of the proposals in the Greek Parliament.
