The Euro Summit, which began at 5pm yesterday and continued through this morning with some breaks only for consultations, finally concluded with a unanimous agreement reached.

Following the Greek government’s submission on July 10 of its proposals detailing reforms and public spending cuts to the creditor institutions, a Eurogroup (11.07) and a special Euro Summit (12.07) on Greece took place over the weekend.

The President of the European Council Donald Tusk tweeted that a unanimous agreement was reached over a European Stability Mechanism (ESM) programme for Greece, in exchange for reforms. The Eurozone finance ministers are asking the Greek government to commit to a series of specific measures, which must be passed through Parliament in Athens by Wednesday (15.07), before negotiations for a new aid programme.
