A teleconference call between the Greek Prime-Minsiter Alexis Tsipras, French President Francois Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, was held late on Thursday (June 4). A Greek government official noted that the Greek Premier will be in constant communication with his counterparts to facilitate an agreement.

Earlier, the Greek government had requested from the International Monetary Fund to bundle all four of its June payments, totaling € 1.6 billion, into one payment by June 30.

"The Greek authorities have informed the Fund today that they plan to bundle the country's four June payments into one, which is now due on June 30," the global lender's chief spokesman, Gerry Rice, said in a statement.

Tsipras, who had presented Greece’s partners with a 47-page list of proposed reforms, rejected their latest proposal. According to officials he told associates: "Such extremist proposals cannot be accepted by the Greek government. Everyone must understand that the Greek people have greatly suffered over the last five years and some have to stop playing games at their expense."

The Greek PM is due to address Parliament at 6 p.m. on Friday so as to brief MPs on the course of negotiations with Greece’s creditors.
