Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras had an hour-long teleconference call with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande yesterday afternoon (28.5). There has been no official information regarding the topics discussed during the teleconference, however it is known that the three leaders focused on the progress of negotiations.

In an interview with the British daily The Guardian (28.5), Deputy Foreign Minister Euclid Tsakalotos, who is now leading Greece’s negotiating team, said that the two sides will never coincide completely but the general impression is that they are converging. He added that "there is now a reasonable chance that whatever convergence still needs to be done after the Brussels Group will be done at a higher level where politicians will be called in for the final trade-off and will bridge the gap."
