With a daily production set at 45 tons of processed meat, this production unit aspires to match the size of Greek yogurt exports. "We see a huge potential in this business," the founders insist. With gross profits accounting for €1 billion, the Greek gyros market is of course profitable but the company relies much on exports since its founders believe that "this is the golden age of gyros."
Souvlaki sandwiches in the United States are sold at around $8, while in Greece it only costs $2. The company already owns a meat-processing plant in New Jersey and runs its GRK chain of restaurants in other States. The next step is to expand to Dubai, UAE with 45 restaurants by 2018.
